Through the use of the internet and websites, social media assists the community in developing relationships, connecting, and conversing. Many people all over the world have access to technology and knowledge of how to use the internet, which enables users to widely share content and interact with the public. By posting and updating in real-time, social media also assisted families, social workers, and the government in determining information during natural disasters such as typhoons, volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, flooding, and landslides. There are websites owned by various digital media companies that provide quick updates and announcements on what's going on in the country or overseas that people need to know in order to stay informed and respond quickly. Our generation has played a significant role in disaster response during recent calamities, such as what occurred in the year 2020; we were notified, and they were able to provide awareness for us to avoid and prevent these worst happenings or events.
